History Notes

D Edwards.

D Edwards is listed onder "Agricultural Implement and Machinery Merchants" in Directories from 1880 to 1919.

Recent information shown above is an extract from " Market Times" (Victoria Market, Melbourne) showing 1931 advertising by Edwards

"I have found an advertisement of D Edwards Company It appears in The Victoria Market Times Sat June 27 1931. The Queen Victoria Market also known as Victoria Market at the time was an absolutely huge vibrant wholesale/growers market, the market today is only a fraction of its involvement compared to yesterday year. In the early days of the market a lot of companies set themselves up or annexed themselves up near the market to make use of trade and complimented the market activities. And think that D Edwards was one of them, at 476 Elizabeth St they were close to Franklin St and near the Market". Vince Crupi
